Aaron Potratz completed his Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy in 2007. He is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC-I) and is currently pursuing his license as a professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon. Aaron has provided treatment to teens, adults, couples, families, and groups. He has experience working with mandated clients, individuals seeking outpatient mental health services, individuals seeking private care, and couples and families with various relational and interpersonal issues.

Aaron has worked with a variety of client issues including depression, anxiety, stress, addiction, anger, trauma, grief, parenting and childcare, divorce and co-parenting, religious and spiritual issues, career and job-related issues, premarital and marital issues, and family-related. These experiences, along with his formal education and training, have given him the ability to effectively treat clients struggling in these areas.

Aaron ascribes to Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused therapy styles, along with Family Systems and Cognitive-Behavioral approaches. He also utilizes Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their ambivalence towards change. These styles help to identify the struggles his clients are experiencing and develop realistic and effective solutions for positive change. Aaron also uses humor to connect with clients, reframe difficult issues, and experience life in a new way. His goal for therapy is to empower clients to make lasting changes that lead to healthier living and relationships.
