Yshai Boussi

Yshai Boussi received his Masters Degree in Applied Behavioral Science, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Bastyr University in 2003.

Yshai has specialized training and experience in the field of trauma and is an expert on adolescent issues. For the past ten years, he has helped adolescents overcome struggles such as sexually abusive behavior, depression, major trauma, grief and loss, poor social skills, low self esteem, and anger management, among others. He has also worked extensively with adolescents from a broad range of ethnic, racial, economic, and religious backgrounds.

In addition to his extensive work with adolescents and families, Yshai has received comprehensive training in EMDR, which is an evidence based method for helping others overcome the effects of trauma and phobias. Using this approach, Yshai has been able to help many individuals of all ages overcome painful and life altering experiences such as physical and sexual abuse.

Yshai’s approach to therapy emphasizes collaboration with his clients and the development of a relationship based on respect, honesty, and compassion. His techniques, style, and approach to therapy have formed out of a combination of professional training, clinical experience, current research on best practices, and personal experiences from his own therapy and journey of personal growth.

In addition to his work with MHFCS, Yshai works part time at a community mental health clinic in Portland. He also runs a private practice based in Portland where he helps adolescents and adults.
