Inner Change: A sexual addiction treatment program

Sexual addiction is a disorder characterized by a pattern of out-of-control sexual behavior, failure to resist impulses, progressive sexual risk-taking, and obsessive thoughts about sex. Sexual behaviors may include pornography use, multiple sex partners, anonymous sex, phone or cyber sex, or criminal sexual behavior.

People with sex addiction often make repeated attempts to control or stop their sexual behavior such as limiting time on the computer, deleting phone numbers, or ending affairs, only to find themselves a short time later re-engaging in similar activities.

Sex addiction causes relationship problems and creates crisis within families. Secrets, lies and betrayal impact family members as well as the person leading the 'double life'. Compulsive sexual behavior can also create work or career problems, legal issues or health problems.

Inner Change provides three service options:

  • Screening Assessment -- A comprehensive evaluation of sexual behavior problems and related mental health and/or addiction issues. You have the option of requesting this service to assess your eligibility with no obligation to enroll in the program.
  • Addiction Recovery Program: Foundations (24 weeks) -- Program includes an SA (Screening Assessment) and a minimum of 24 weeks of intense treatment, including group meetings, individual meetings and family sessions. This program addresses the first seven vital 'tasks' of an evidence-based sexual addiction treatment model. Clients will receive a certificate upon completion of the program (Additional therapy may be recommended after the completion of the Foundations Program based on clinical assessment).
  • Individual Counseling -- Inner Change is also offering on-going individual counseling sessions to address sexual addiction without the group and family components. These sessions are NOT part of a comprehensive program. Clients will NOT receive a certificate of completion since there is no minimum number of sessions required. Termination from this program will follow client-therapist agreement.
